The entrance sets the tone : a carved solid wood Gothic staircase decorated with a coffered ceiling, a change of era.Three large reception lounges are at your disposal. The grey lounge with its magnificent moldings and mirrors is ideal for gathering in front of the fireplace for an aperitif and for entertaining your guests. The very warm library lounge with its impressive wooden fireplace welcomes you to enjoy more intimate moments. The games room, an evolving space, can be transformed into a home cinema or table tennis room in winter. You are free to set up tables in one or two of the three lounges (which are interconnecting) to accommodate your reception dinner. Furniture can be easily moved. It is “your family chateau” for a weekend and you can organise your celebration there as if it were your own home, or even your wedding reception. Staying at the chateau also means enjoying the snooker room-lounge in the traditional kitchen at the end of the evening or simply relaxing in the exquisite kitchen and then, the next morning, meeting all your family and friends for breakfast : the chateau lifestyle.

The eleven bedrooms in the château can accommodate 28 persons. They have kept their old-fashioned charm and each one has its own style. In one case, this is because of its exposed structure and floor tiles, another is marked by its 1930s style… The rooms are typical of the “large family houses” from the past with a touch of modernity. All of them have a view of the park.

The property is always rented in its entirety to a single family. You have the park (3 hectares) and the castle to accommodate 28 persons.
Quotation on request for rental within the framework of a wedding.
The price of the rental includes the park, the rooms to lodge 28 persons and the lounges of the castle. Heating, water, electricity, garden maintenance and regular cleaning are included in the price. Upon request, breakfast and meals could be provided. Bed linen and towels are provided. Beds are made upon arrival. Only the tourist tax remains to be paid upon arrival. In case of a stay with reception, quotation on request.

History
In 1791, after the revolution, the property of the clergy was declared national. Mr. Hyppolit Le Mercier de Pierremont takes this opportunity to acquire 300 hectares on the commune of Angerville La Campagne. The domain fell to his son-in-law Pierre Nicolas L’Hopital (Mayor of Evreux in 1848).
In 1829, in the midst of this marvelous park with a thousand trees, he built the present castle, surrounded by a small chapel under the patronage of Notre Dame, a hunting lodge, a stable, and an orangery And decided to turn part of his farms into a model farm.
His son, Georges l’Hopital, an Officer of the Legion of Honor, was State Councilor and President of the Free Society of Evreux. Joseph L’Hopital, his son, was distinguished by his beautiful pen and brilliant verb. Two of his works were crowned at L’Académie Française. He was also mayor of Angerville the campaign from 1911 to 1930. The same family remained in this castle until its sale in May 2008 to the Bonleu family, the current owners.
Eric Bonleu, architect, and his wife Roselyne renovated the castle with passion and elegance, retaining its authentic charm. Once called Château d’Angerville-la-Campagne, they renamed it Château de Bois de la Lune. They lived there for 7 years with their children, organized many family celebrations before joining Paris in 2015, to offer it now to rent weekly or weekend to other families.

Want to recharge your batteries, find nature, Normandy is full of outdoor activities, sports or culture. A walk on the Voie Verte of Evreux, visit the Abbey of Bec-Hellouin, or make a tour of the Golf of Evreux 6 km from the castle. Always by the Green Way, join the tree-climbing park Arbr’En Ciel. The Pony Club 1 km from the castle will delight you. You can also go canoeing kayak 15 km from the castle. In Evreux, do not miss the splendid cathédral ! A short distance away is Giverny, Claude Monet’s house, and the Impressionism Museum, which is famous all over the world. Take a break in the water garden with its Japanese bridge, its water lilies … decorations that inspired Monet two of his most famous paintings. The presence of the painter in Giverny attracted many artists of various nationalities who also contributed to make this site a particularly emblematic place. “The light is there like no other place,” said Claude Monet. At 30 minutes from the castle, you will find the stunning castle of Champs de Bataille, renovated by Jacques Garcia, its owner.
