The history of La Menaudière, is one that crosses the ages, beginning in the XVth century of this famous region.
Since then three main families have owned the château de La Ménaudière: the Brissonet, the Caillat and the Ferrière families.
The Brissonet family owned it from 1460 for 200 years. This family has some famous members such as Jean Brissonet, first mayor of Tours and Catherine Brissonet who was involved in initiating the construction of the Château de Chenonceau.
During the sixties, the château was bought by a company that invested substantial amounts of money to renovate the château turning it into a 3 star hotel.
In 2009, Mickael Marchand, current owner of the château bought it. Mickael has always been a stone and history lover. While the idea of running the chateau as a hotel was intriguing he wanted to rediscover the historical life of the chateau as a family home. Renting his home to other families keeps the story of the chateau alive by sharing the spirit of the property.
