A seventeenth century manor, Riveneuve once belonged to the Baron of Ornolac. It was enlarged and decorated by Jules Lahondès who inherited it in 1850. He was a painter, a student of Joseph Latour, renamed historian, archaeologist and President of the Academy Jeux Floraux in Toulouse. On his return from a trip to Italy, he painted scenes from Rome and Venice, especially the gardens of the Villa Doria Pamphili in Rome as mural paintings which decorate the living room. The canvas was restored with the help of VMF (Vieilles Maisons Françaises). He carved the fireplace with its coat of arms and those of the family of Exea for the wedding of his son Joseph to the daughter of the Marquise of Exea. One of his paintings represents his dog Linda in the foreground of the castle was also restored.
Catherine and Hervé Gasiglia bought Riveneuve in 2000 and have lovingly restored into a large warm family home where they receive their children and friends. In their absence, they are happy to allow others to meet up with their families and friends.
